About the author

Gabriel García Márquez（加夫列尔·加西亚·马尔克斯，1927-2014）was a Colombian novelist, short-story writer, screenwriter（编剧）andjournalist（新闻工作者）.Because ofOne Hundred Years of Solitude《百年孤独》,he was awardedthe 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature（诺贝尔文学奖）.And there are other books also byMárquez：The Autumn of the Patriarch《族长的没落》,Love in the Time ofCholera《霍乱时期的爱情》.

The book talks about different lives of six generations ofBuendía family, which are in different social background, but it cannot be denied that their lives are all about the theme of this book—solitude.
